- ComPsych® GuidanceResources®
This resource provides App State employees with an enhanced employee assistance program. The organization offers resources for speaking to children about diversity and discrimination, workplace diversity, understanding the trauma of racism, and mental health first aid, among other topics. - Counseling for Faculty and Staff
CFS provides counseling, consultation, training, and referrals for concerns that impact employees’ personal and professional lives. - Employee resource groups (Affinity Groups)

- Equal Employment Opportunity and Diversity Fundamentals
This is a mandatory training for all managers and supervisors with North Carolina state agencies and UNC System institutions and provides a thorough background in EEO law as well as thought-provoking situations to assess and improve cultural competence in the workplace. - Inclusion Infusion Summer Diversity Institute
This annual event, which is open to faculty and staff, is designed to encourage inclusive practices and relationships that support a state of being valued, respected and supported. - Parent to Parent program
This program provides free support, caring connections, information and hope to families who have a premature baby, a child with a disability, an emotional or behavioral challenge, a mental illness, a chronic health condition or to families who are grieving the death of a child. - Professional Development Workshops
App State’s Office of Human Resources offers year-round professional development opportunities, many of which are focused on diversity and inclusion. - Rich Mountain Meditation Room
Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to use this walk-in space as a quiet reprieve from their busy lives, and for prayer and meditation or small group spiritual gatherings. - Teaching and research:
- Scholarship for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Grants
The Office of Research annually awards funds to select research proposals that support projects and programs that will investigate issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Applications are accepted from August–October each year. - Inclusive Excellence through the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning for Student Success
The Inclusive Excellence Team offers resources for inclusive teaching, curriculum and pedagogy, and provides space for dialogue, learning and growth for faculty and instructors.
